At Hyperever, we use technology to make people safer and more
efficient. We build smart robots like Proteo to handle the hard and
dangerous jobs, so humans don't have to. Proteo combines strong
hardware with artificial intelligence. It climbs stairs and crosses
rough ground autonomously to reach challenging environments.
We are not just engineering machines. We are building a future

An Autonomous AI-Enabled Quadruped Robot
In complex operational environments where challenging building layouts put a burden on field operatives to watch and detect any potential threat on each corner. Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) and Unmanned Ground Systems (UGS) play a significant supportive role for reconnaissance and tactical patrols offering seamless real-time video streaming in such critical situations. By integrating VITEC’s low-latency, ruggedized video encoders into Hyperever’s Proteo quadruped robot, we deliver a new capability: secure, broadcast-quality FMV (Full Motion Video) from an SDI/HDMI video payload into command and control (C2) nodes. The synergy creates a mission-ready solution for ISR, EOD, and remote operations that enhances situational awareness, reduces sensorto- decision time, and expands the value of the robodog platform.
The Challenge
Hyperever’s Proteo robot is designed to traverse tough terrain autonomously or semi-autonomously, carry up to ~35 kg payload, operate 4–6 hours, and reach speeds up to ~12 km/h. However, many existing robodog deployments were limited by standard video payloads: higher latency video streams, limited compression requiring bigger bandwidth in communication, and integration challenges with tactical C2 networks. Meanwhile, field commanders require ultra-low latency, high-quality, secure video — particularly when robotic platforms become forward sensors in constrained or contested environments.
The additional advantage was a compact, ruggedized video encoder with a limited SWaP capable of military-grade streaming from mobile assets like Proteo.
The Solution
Proteo from Hyperever delivers mobility, autonomy, payload capacity, and legged UGV form-factor suited for ISR, logistics, and EOD missions. Offering VITEC’s encoder as part of Proteo’s payload, gives unique video capabilities which can be streamed securely over tactical networks directly to field operatives and C2 centers. The combined solution enables the robodog to act as a forward video node, feeding live high-quality imagery and metadata to decision-makers.
By integrating VITEC into Proteo robodog, we deliver secure real-time video from the robodog to the command elements anywhere. In mission-critical scenarios, this enhances situational awareness, accelerates decision-making cycles, and improves force protection. With such high-end video capabilities, Proteo becomes an intelligent ISR asset providing operators with reliable visual dominance in high-threat conditions

The Result
New capability: Proteo now becomes a tactical video streaming node, not just a mobile platform. Video feeds from the robodog can be delivered in broadcast-quality HD/4K to HQ with metadata ready for exploitation.
- Latency reduction: With VITEC’s ultra-low latency encoder, latency is significantly reduced compared to standard payloads, enabling near-real-time decision making.
- Bandwidth efficiency: HEVC codec provides up to ~50% bandwidth savings vs H.264.
- Interoperability: Standard protocols and metadata support ensure seamless integration into existing C2/ISR architectures, and decoders available on mobile devices.
